June 20-22
Troy, MI: Opa! Fest is the area's largest Greek festival. Now in its 15th year, Opa! Fest is hosted by St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church of Troy, Michigan. Join the celebration with live Greek music by the Greek Tycoons and traditional folk dances, mouth-watering Greek food, authentic Greek coffee, wine tasting, secrets of Greek cooking and everyone's favorite - the pastry booth. There is plenty to see and do for the entire family. Admission is $2 for adults or FREE with the donation of 3 canned food items to be donated to Gleaners. Royal Oak, MI: The Royal Oak Clay & Glass Festival is a great way to shop for unique pieces from over 125 artists. This event features live music, food, beverage and more. There will be a pre-glow party on Fifth St. only June 20 from 5 - 11 p.m., festival hours are Sat. 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. The festival will be held on Washington Ave. and Fifth St. in downtown Royal Oak. Dearborn, MI: The 13th annual Dearborn Arab Festival is a family-centered cultural celebration. This celebration of cultures boasts a great number of amusements, live musical acts-both local and international, 30 international food booths, coffee cup readings, henna, arts and crafts, a children’s tent, artisans, Arab merchandise, and a giant old-fashioned Ferris wheel that overlooks East Dearborn. Festival hours are Friday 5:00pm to 11:00pm, Saturday 12:00pm to 11:00pm, Sunday 12:00pm to 9:00pm. Admission is FREE! June 20 - 23
Detroit, MI: GM River Days is a four-day FREE festival along Detroit's Waterfront. Join in on the 2nd annual celebration featuring music, family fun, food, rides, Riverdays boat parade of lights and more. The even will end with the 50th annual Target Fireworks! Hours are Friday 11am- 11pm, Saturday 10am- 11pm, Sunday 10am- 10pm, and Monday 10am- 11pm. Check out the GM Riverdays Free Food Offer! For event info.

June 20
Milford, MI: Stroll through six of Milford area's most lovely gardens and visit the Artisans Market. Featured are area artists painting in the gardens with finished works for viewing at the new Heiner Hertling Studio in the Village. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in town at the Clothing Cove, Curves, and the Pond Place in Highland. Dexter, Mi: Get a close-up view of some cool critters during "Reptiles and Amphibians of the World" at the Dexter District Library. June 21
Ann Arbor, MI: Bring your infant or toddler aged 6 months - 2 years to Babies "R" Us in Ann Arbor to enjoy a preview of Signing Smart, a baby sign language program for hearing children. Learn to use American Sign Language in songs, play and daily activities to help babies learn to communicate before they speak. Children can celebrate diverse cultures through a high energy show presented by musician Guy Louis. A variety of instruments will be featured including a European Renaissance lute, a sitar, tamboura and more. 11 a.m. Saturday at the Performance Network Theater in Ann Arbor. Admission is $7 for children and $10 for adults. Admission also includes a free music workshop at 10:15 a.m. and an after-show snack. Northville, MI: Enjoy the 20th annual Art in the Sun, a juried fine arts festival featuring over 100 exhibitors. After you've tired of shopping you can check out the musical entertainment or help paint a mural to be donated to St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia. The festival hours are Sat. 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sun. 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.; downtown Northville. Admission is FREE. Call 248-349-7640 or visit Northville.org for info.

June 22
Detroit, MI: Are you interested in a Waldorf education for your child? Or would you like to learn more about the Waldorf philosophy? Detroit, MI: Don't forget the 50th annual Target Fireworks along Detroit's waterfront! Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. but be sure to go early to stake out a spot. While you are waiting you can enjoy the entertainment and activities available at GM Riverdays.

Troy, MI: Teens 13 - 17 can join nationally acclaimed artist Matt Feazell in a workshop to make their own mini comic book. 6 - 8:30 p.m. at the Troy Public Library. The workshop is FREE but registration is required. Call 248-619-7652 or visit Troy Public Library for more info.

June 24-29
Livonia, MI: Celebrate the City of Livonia's anniversary at Livonia Spree! This week long festival will feature rides, games, musical performances, food, fireworks and much, much more! The festival will be held at Ford Field at the corner of Farmington Road and Lyndon; admission to the festival is FREE, individual event prices vary. Hours are Tuesday 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Wednesday - Thursday - Friday 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Saturday & Sunday Noon to 11:00 pm. June 25
Brighton, MI: It's a Garden Safari at the Brighton District Library! Kids ages 4 - 6 are invited to come out and search its garden for creepy crawlies. June 26
Detroit, MI: Make history at the world premiere of the Detroit Windsor International Film Festival! The event includes film workshops and a children's film festival with age appropriate films shown at the Detroit Public Library's main branch. Times and venue's vary and are located in both Detroit and Windsor, ON. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 seniors & students and FREE for the children's festival. Registration is required.
