It's the end of the month and things look a little slow this weekend. I guess everyone is holding off until the Fourth of July! We still have some great things to do around Metro Detroit. Don't forget to check out my new events calendar for more family fun!
June 27 & 28 Detroit, MI: Check out the classic black & white film, The Incredible Shrinking Man, at the Redford Theater in Detroit. Friday 8 p.m. and Saturday 2 p.m. Admission is $4. Call 313-537-2560 or visit the Redford Theater for more information.
June 27, 28 & 29 Howell, MI: Beautiful hot-air balloons will fill the skies during Michigan Challenge Balloonfest in Howell, MI. The whole family can enjoy watching the balloons or skydivers as well as a carnival, custom car show, race and much more! Parking passes are $12 daily or $20 all weekend per car. Some events will be held downtown, but most, including balloon launches, will be at Howell High School. Call 517-546-3920 or go to the schedule of events for event times and locations.
June 28 & 29 Warren, MI: Check out the Animal Planet Expo held at the Warren Community Center from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. The Animal Planet Expo will feature stunts from the high-flying Frisbee dogs, breathtaking exotic live animal presentations and twists on classic games such as Pin the Tail on the Puppy. The FREE event will include interactive exhibits and games for four-legged friends, so be sure to bring your pet! City of Warren website for more info.
June 28 South Lyon, MI: Enjoy a Texas style barbeque by The Learning Experience! Admission is FREE and includes water activities, a bounce house, tasty food including vegetarian options. Noon - 2 p.m. at The Learning Experience Center in South Lyon. Call 248-446-6283 for info.
June 28 & 29 Grass Lake, MI: It's a Blacksmiths, Soldiers and Log Cabin Weekend at the Waterloo Farm Museum! Experience pioneer events like a Civil War encampments, woodcarving and sock making. Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Sunday noon - 5 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, $2 children 5 - 17 and under 5 are FREE.
