Why I blog |
I started this blog when another new mom asked me what I activities I could suggest that were:
a) Very cheap or FREE b) Could be done with an infant
I gave it some thought and started this blog as a way to keep track of my discoveries and to share them with other parents. I didn't intend on including any other money saving ventures besides the odd clearance sale I happened upon. Then I started to realize that it was all tied in together. After all, the easiest way to have something cheap to do is to become a member of an attraction like the zoo or museum. However, those memberships can seem like a hefty expense when money is tight. I saw that saving money on necessities meant more money to enjoy your family. That's why I started to include sales, freebies, clearances and other items to to my blog. In that vein I'm going to start a regular feature where I review the "rewards clubs" that different stores offer. Each review will list the benefits of the card and the costs both in time and money.
I will, of course, continue to focus on family events and attractions that won't break the bank. Every month I find wider and wider resources. So much so that I felt it was time to start the events calendar to keep it all organized. I'll also continue to add links to attractions and events in the sidebar as well as other Detroit area resources.
I'd also like to thank everyone who reads what I have to write. It's amazing to me that I have an audience for this! I love sharing my finds and it's so much fun to have a place to do so.Labels: Site News |

Given the headlines about the auto industry, people really need the information that's being posted on the southeast Michigan frugal blogs and sites.
There's lots of information out there - the link that us bloggers provide is focusing it to what's relevant to our communities.
