Michael's Clearance and Coupons
If you are a crafter or doing some home decorating now is a perfect time to visit Michael's Arts & Crafts. They have items clearanced in every department including wall hangings and home decor. As an added bonus you can use this week's newspaper coupon in combination with the clearance prices. I was pretty excited when I handed over my coupon and an extra 20% came off of my clearance items since the coupon said that regular merchandise only and sale items were excluded.

This Week's Weekly Events Post
This has been an extraordinarily busy week because my husband is home and we've been putting in a lot of hours at our new home getting it ready for the move. That means I'm running a little bit late on the events post. I'll have it up this evening, but if you want to get a jump on planning your weekend you can always take a look at my Events Calendar. There are a bunch of events already there for you to choose from.

Diaper Shopping
Pampers mailed me a couple of awesome coupons yesterday so I'm off to Target to save. Why Target? Well, Target has some amazing Pampers coupons available for printing. Like $5 off when you buy both Diapers and 180ct or larger wipes (exp 7-31-08).

coupons

I also got a mailing from Luvs recently and have a Target coupon for $2.50 off 2 jumbo packs or larger (exp 7-15-08). If you are a Luvs user you know that Luvs coupons are rare compared to other diaper brands so this is a real treat.

Bargains for Southfield Crafters
I was on I-696 today and saw a big "store closing" sign on the JoAnn Fabric store at 11 Mile and Lahser. I used to shop that store a lot years ago when I worked on that side of town. It's a small store and the selection is limited but I always could find some real gems in their clearance section. I'll be sad to see it go.

On the bright side, this means big savings for anyone with a sewing or craft project in the works. I don't know when they are closing their doors so it would be a good idea to call before heading over there. The store number is (248) 355-0955.

Even More Free Admission
I'd like to thank Mommy Super Shopper for uncovering this source of free attractions. I'm really excited about this one because it includes attractions that weren't available through Target's program.

If you are a Bank of America card holder you are able to enjoy free admissions at a number of attractions the first weekend of every month. The definition of card holder isn't limited to credit cards either. If you bank at Bank of America and have a debit card then you are also eligible for this program! Visit The Henry Ford, which includes The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, The Detroit Zoo or The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History.

Visit Bank of America's Museums on Us for information and to sign up for text or email alerts. Or check back here for updates!

National and Local Savings for you
If you are heading out to Great Lakes Crossing make a side trip to Linens & Things on Baldwin Road for 20-50% off savings during their store closing. I'm not sure how much longer they'll be open because it looks like they've already taken that location off of their store locator.

JoAnn Fabric and Craft just issued a few three day only online coupons that are pretty good. Use code: EED191 to take 40% off one regular priced item; code: EAD191 for free shipping; EGD191 to take 10% off your entire online order; code: EJD191 for an additional 20% off of one item. The terms of service say that you can't use these codes with any other promotional code, but I don't know if they mean from other promotions of if you can only use these one at a time. It's worth a try to see if you can combine them.

Now until July 12th at Snapfish you can get fifty prints for fifty cents! These are 4x6 prints. Just use the code: JUL4PENNY08 to take advantage of this offer. I used this promotion to order all of the photos from my daughter's first birthday. I ordered 60 prints and ended up paying $5.65 for my total order. That's $1.40 for the photos, $0.32 for sales tax and $3.83 for shipping. That's less than ten cents a photo. Not bad!

Recall Information
I was experimenting with adding official recall updates to the blog, but I don't think it's working out. I've gotten too used to reading the updates, checking to see if I own the product and deleting the e-mails. Instead of posting each recall here I've added multiple resources for recall information to the "savvy shopping" section of the links list. There you can visit the websites, get the feeds or sign up for e-mail updates.

I will still post the unofficial recall information that I find, but if it's available on the government pages or feeds I won't. I'd hate to have anyone rely on me for recall information and to let them down.

Events July 2 - 10, 2008
This week should be an easy week to find events. Heck, it seems like all you have to do is step outside of your front door and something is happening! I still have a bunch of cities, libraries and resources to add to the page.

If you have a page you think I should check out or a link I should add please
email me!
